Colonel Adekunle fajuyi was born and breed of a native town called ado Ekiti on
26th June 1926 into a family of late pa.
Isaiah and Felicia osundunke fajuyi.

Fajuyi attended Saint George catholic school, ado Ekiti. He was know as a great
young man from his early age, who was agile, fierce and hardworking.

He work as a clerk which exacerbate him to join the Nigeria army in 1943 and as a
sergeant he was posted on a duty to join the Nigeria signal squadron in the
Royal West Africa Frontier Force.

He worked tirelessly which grant him so many opportunities such as being served in Germany on the attachment to the British army in 1957.

He attended the platoon commanders course in England.

He died on July 29 1966 through the retaliatory seeking counter coup led by major T.Y Danjuma at ibadan along with General Johnson aguiyi ironsi who was the head of state and Supreme commander of the armed forces of the federal republic of Nigeria while they intend to address a conference of national ruler of western Nigeria.

He was survive with his wife Eunice Ayodele and Donald Olufemi fajuyi.

Adekunle fajuyi was the first Nigeria soldier of the Yoruba origin.

He is the first military governor of the western Nigeria and he as
inaugurated in to office in January 1966 till 29th of July 1966 under the umbrella of major general aguiyi ironsi.

He trained as an officer in Pakistan in 1964.

 He also train at the Eaton hall officer candidate school in the United Kingdom from July 1954 till November 1954 when he was short service Commissioned.

 In 1961, he was appointed as the ‘C’ commander with the 4 battalion,
queens own Nigeria regiment under lieutenant Colonel price.

 Colonel Adekunle fajuyi was awarded for his succession with the military
cross for the action in the north katanga and loosen his unit from an
ambush on completion of the Congo which is also known as leopoldville
operation.

 He was awarded for his brave performance and personality by the British empire medal in 1951 for supporting the contain of the organize rebellion in his unit over food ration.

He became the first indigenous commander of the first battalion in Enugu
which he held the position until just before the first coup of January
15,1966.

 Adekunle was posted to Abeokuta as a garrison commander when major
general ironsi come into view as the new chief in commander on 17 January 1966.

Colonel fajuyi served as military adviser in the headquarter of ONUC,
Congo from August to December 1961.
